Alumni News |
Just before the Easter break, the PE department hosted the Alumni v Pate's First Team football, netball and hockey matches. In previous years the weather had not been kind but this time the grey skies lifted and blue sky and sunshine were seen (perhaps not too helpful for the netballers trying to shoot goals!).
The conditions for the footballers on the grass pitch weren't conducive to fast play - the weeks of wet weather and Games lessons meant that the only green was around the sidelines! The hockey players on the astro and the netballers on the hard court faired better and came away cleaner for the post match refreshments!
Final scores:
Hockey 2 - 1 win for Pate's
Football 3 - 0 win for Alumni
Netball 28 - 24 win for Alumni
Thank you to all alumni who so kindly gave up their time in a busy working week to play or spectate. It was especially nice to see former staff members Daren Brunsdon and John Berry back at Pate's giving their support fairly to both sides from the sidelines. Do get in touch if you are interested in playing next year, it's a great opportunity to engage with the school in a very different way!
