Match-Funding

Did you know many large companies will match the money their employees raise for charity? It’s called match funding, and it can apply to fundraising events where you give your time as well as money. It’s a simple way for Friends of Pate’s to boost the amazing efforts of parents and volunteers.

How does it work?
If your employer has a match funding scheme, they may match some or all of the money you raise for an event or activity (including online ones). Usually, all that’s needed is a short letter from Friends of Pate’s confirming the event and the amount raised.

Should I ask my employer?
Yes, please! Many organisations, such as banks, supermarkets, utilities, insurers and large companies, offer match funding. It’s not really a cost to them, as it’s usually offset against tax. Your HR or Community Relations team should be able to help.

We’d be really grateful if you could check whether your employer has a match funding scheme and let us know. Even if you can’t volunteer at an event, you may still be able to help us access match funding. It can make a huge difference and directly benefits our children and school community.
