Tax Efficient Giving

Donations to Pate’s can go further through HMRC’s Gift Aid scheme. If you are a UK taxpayer, the school can reclaim 25p for every £1 you give, at no extra cost to you.

Higher-rate taxpayers can also claim (through your self-assessment tax return) additional tax relief, meaning the real cost of giving is lower than the amount donated.

Please us the calculator below to see what your donation could be worth to Pate's with Gift Aid and what the real cost to you might be, depending on the rate of income tax you pay.

You can also support us through Give As You Earn (Payroll Giving), which lets you donate directly from your salary before tax. To start Give As You Earn, please contact your company’s payroll or HR department.

By using any of our Donate buttons on this website, you will be given an option to add a Gift Aid Declaration. All other donation options give instructions on making your gift eligible.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Development Team - development@patesg.org

Please note: Gift Aid is a UK tax relief scheme. To enable Pate’s to claim Gift Aid, you must make a valid Gift Aid declaration and have paid enough UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the relevant tax year. You must tell the charity if you stop paying enough tax.

Higher- and additional-rate tax relief is normally claimed by the donor through Self Assessment or by asking HMRC to adjust their tax code. This calculator provides an illustration and is not tax advice.
