The Wildlife Photography Competition 2020 was the brainchild of the Environment Committee. When one of the committee posted a picture of the wildlife in his garden on the group's Teams chat, the idea to showcase the flora and fauna in our gardens, parks and further afield, was born.

The competition comprised of 4 categories – Insects; Flowers; Birds and other creatures; Landscapes, views and other. Judged by the committee, a winner was chosen from each category with an additional 3 joint overall winners. These 3 overall winners were those who chief judge Mrs Rooksby, felt entered 3 outstanding photos, with each one offering something different.

With spring showing its colours so strongly this year, there was beauty to be seen everywhere and it is no surprise that some stunning images were captured. The photographs truly capture the essence of a time when our human world stood still, allowing us to appreciate nature as never before.
