Congratulations to Year 10 student Anna whose work has been selected (out of 21,500 entries!) for the Young Artists’ Summer Show at the Royal Academy of Arts, London - well done Anna! The exhibition will take place online and at the Royal Academy, from 16 July to 11 August 2024 - if you are heading into the capital this summer and like your art, then please do stop by to view. For further information about the Summer Show and to view entries from previous years' exhibitions please click here

This is the description of Anna's selected piece:

The Underground, ink pen, A3

I recently flew back to China for the first time since the lockdown, and the first thing I was struck with was the sheer number of people. I tried to capture the lively yet claustrophobic effect, the overwhelming foreignness of the return, and the vibrant lives of very different strangers unified under the anonymity of the crowd.
