Higher Education & Careers Fair 2023

The 2023 HE & Careers Fair was the biggest and best yet! It was wonderful to have so many universities, gap year organisations, businesses and alumni on site to chat with our students in Years 10-13.

The annual Pate’s Higher Education & Careers Fair took place recently and it was a busy one with 34 universities, 3 gap year organisations, 23 companies and 23 alumni in attendance! Let’s not forget the many students, who came ready to information gather, crystallise ideas and order their confused minds!

The uni reps were kept busy in the Hall answering questions from students who ranged from those right at the start of their thinking of life post-Pate's to those in Year 13 who are just about to submit their UCAS form. Lots of prospectuses were given out, with parents looking on nervously as their children showed interest in unis that became progressively further from home!

Businesses proved very popular with many students keen to find out about apprenticeships, internships and work experience. Students really valued the fact that they could ask indepth questions to the company reps and that they were given really helpful advice.

Pate's alumni chatted courses, campuses and careers in the Art Gallery, providing the students with helpful advice and insights. They were a very inspiring group, comprised of current university students, those pursuing degree apprenticeships and those who are building their careers. We are so grateful to our alumni for giving up their time to ‘give back’ to Pate’s in such a valuable way and we’ve had some terrific feedback from parents and students who really appreciated the opportunity to speak one to one with alumni.

A special thank you to those in the Alumni zone:

John Beard Helena Eyles Thomas Green Claire Joyner Robert Moseley Fergus Pickles Mike Pratt Jasper Richardson Anirjit Roy Humairaa Saleh Liam Scott James Somper Abbi Shan Dominic Thomas Cameron Turton Sarah Williams

Plus those alumni who came as reps for their companies in the Business zone:

Tom Frampton, Jack Young, Fergus Healey, Jack Lawrence, Jennifer Cockett and Isabel Murton.

If you are a business or alumni looking to come along next year please do Save this Date, Wednesday 13th November 2024 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.
