In a special awards assembly at the end of last term, we thanked the outgoing House Official teams and officially awarded them the trophies they won throughout this year of competitions. The House Cup was finally awarded to the overall winning House – CONGRATULATIONS TO PEMBROKE!
Later in the day everyone joined in with the House Officials – new and old – for an afternoon of House Spirit! There were massed games of dodgeball in the Sports Hall and a (somewhat quieter) boardgames and table tennis café in the Gallery.
Pembroke’s Head Officials, John and Mara, and their classmates, were the very first Pembroke students when the House was introduced seven years ago – when Pembroke consisted only of Y7 & Y12 students. Time has flown by and it is wonderful that they have marked their coming of age so spectacularly! The House system remains at the heart of life at Pate's and continues to bring students and staff together in a spirit of camaraderie and friendly rivalry at the many house events offered each year.
We must of course, thank the Heads of House for their powers of listening, advising and encouraging and the House Sponsors for their support which enables many different elements of the House system to be actioned.
