Teaching is undoubtedly a rewarding profession that allows you to make a difference. A true vocation, a career in teaching allows you to inspire the next generation. As a teacher you will be a life long learner, with strong job security, many flexible working options and a huge array of career opportunities and prospects. In teaching, no two days are ever the same and the visible results that you see from pupils are guaranteed to send you home each day with a sense of satisfaction and pride.
We know that taking the decision to train to teach is a significant one. At Odyssey we are well placed to support you every step of the way. With the outstanding provision of GITEP and the Universities of Bristol and Gloucestershire behind us, we are able to add a personal and bespoke element that provides an additional support network and unique cross phase perspective.
Training with Odyssey means an opportunity to train in an Alliance led by Pate’s Grammar School - a school also rated Outstanding by Ofsted in every category and recognised in 2020 as the Sunday Times School of the Year. However, our Alliance is about true collaboration between schools that are all excellent and specialists in what they do.
At secondary level there is the opportunity to train equally in both the comprehensive and grammar sectors, with four schools who proudly work in collaboration to develop and train staff to the highest standards. Our primary provision is proudly led by the Gloucestershire Learning Alliance, the largest primary MAT in Gloucestershire, with a strong reputation for school improvement and staff development. Together, in collaboration, we are able to offer an unrivalled opportunity to start a career in teaching.
