Published at Pate's - uncovering our alumni authors

We recently asked for any Pate's alumni published authors to make themselves known to us for a 450th anniversary project. We were thrilled by the response!

As part of our 450th anniversary celebrations, the Development Office teamed up with the Library to shine a light on those alumni who are published authors. The Library staff were excited to see who would respond and looked forward to putting together displays in our Senior and Junior Libraries for the students to peruse for Pate's Reading Week in early March.

This project was kicked off by Cheltenham Grammar School alumnus Joe Treasure who very generously donated two of his books (signed to Pate's!). Fittingly, these were handed over to fellow alumnus (and Pate's Archivist) Rob Rimell in the Brewery Quarter, which is where CGS was situated before the school moved to Princess Elizabeth Way in 1965.

Due to both the number of authors who came forward and the level of interest from students and staff, the display was extended for three weeks and any books donated by the authors have now been entered into the Library catalogue with loan status. All of the bios supplied by the authors are kept on hand in the Libraries for students to look at at any point.

We really appreciate the generosity of the authors for their book donations and it was an added pleasure to meet some in person for book 'hand-overs' - Rachel Eperjesi, Donna Gibbs, Fiona Sampson, Roger Turner, Alison Watts (alumna, on behalf of her husband and alumnus Geoff!) and Jon Palmer - we are sorry that we missed you by moments!.

Our sincere thanks go to the following alumni who took the time to make contact with us and helped make this such an inspirational and diverse display for our school to enjoyl:

Graham Adams; Memoona Ahmed; Susanna Beard; Liz Chaderton; Tony Davies; Geoff Dyer; Rachel Fitz-Desorgher; Rachel Eperjesi; Adrian Faiers; Donna Gibbs; Lucy Griffiths; Keith Hannabuss; Derek Healy; Joy Hibbins; Lynne Hunt; Mark Johnson; Sue Limb; Graham Minett; Tony Oliver; Jon Palmer; Lucy Rowland; Fiona Sampson; Joe Treasure; Roger Turner; Stephen Wall; Peter Watson & Geoff Watts

Do take a moment to look at the photo gallery 'Published at Pate's' to see their works on display and read their author bios.
