Being a CCF instructor is an exciting leadership opportunity and offers a new perspective on getting involved with the students, as well as experiencing a range of outdoor activities.  We parade on a Friday evening, 1600hrs-1730hrs incl and we run a wide variety of fun and challenging activities for the cadets, which include field craft, shooting, leadership and team building training and even the opportunity to go flying, both gliding and powered flight.  We also attend organised Army and RAF annual central camps (these are residential) where the cadets can put into practice all that they have learnt throughout the year. Weekend field training exercises are also a hugely popular draw for cadets and adults alike (these are, again, residential), and take place at any one of the numerous military training areas local to the school.

All this is made possible by the commitment of the Adult Instructors, who work with passion and enthusiasm to deliver the cadet experience. You do not have to have a military or cadet background, although this would be very helpful.  Kit and training will be provided - some on Friday parade nights, and some at the Cadet Training Centre at Frimley Park - at the end of which you could find yourself taking charge of cadets from either our Army or RAF section.

If you are interested and want to discuss this further, we would love to hear from you.  Please email Jane Jowett Jane.Jowett@patesgs.org or Gary Clark-Savage Gary.Clark-Savage@patesgs.org in the Outdoor Education Department.
