We were thrilled that so many alumni were able to support the school at the Pate's Higher Education & Careers Fair this month. In a warm and lively atmosphere in the Refectory (hosting businesses and alumni), our students in Years 10 - 13 were able to meet with alumni working and studying in a wide range of industries. Our huge thanks go to the following alumni who spent time chatting about their higher education courses, professional training and careers with our students:
Arts & Heritage – Jennifer Lane Baker (freelance theatre director); Chrissy Williams (Natural History Museum)
Engineering &Technology – Tom Frampton (Jaguar Land Rover); Simon Bennett (Rackspace Technology); Rachel Jarvis (Rockpool)
Insurance – Liam Scott (Charles Taylor Group)
Law – Jennifer Cockett & Simon Cook (Willans)
Medicine – Jenni Gough, Rachel Underhill, Laura Baker, Sully Uppal
Science – James Somper (Chemistry, Oxford)
Alumni also came along representing businesses and it was great to see Lucie Perez (Hazlewoods), Hayley Ainsworth (Willans), Joyce Clifford (Quattro Design Architects), Gaurav Singh (degree apprenticeship, Bloomberg) and Ethan Adams (degree apprenticeship, Dyson).
We have had some very positive event feedback from parents and students who greatly appreciated interacting with alumni from such a wide range of professions. It was so valuable for our students to hear in person their career stories and tips and advice and we are very much looking forward to recruiting even more alumni for the Fair in 2023! If you would like to attend this event next year please Save the Date of Wednesday 15th November 2023, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm and email development@patesgs.org to let us know that you would like to attend.
